HM George V would die the following year with each of his sons succeeding him; one by right and the other by abdication.

Richard Williams was a Royal Air Force photographer.

This photograph was the property of Group Captain Cyril Rapley CBE. Cyril Rapley was born in 1895 and saw action with the Royal Flying Corps in 1918 and with the Royal Air Force from 1940.
