Item Description

Hubert von Herkomer was an Anglo German painter of the 19th century and early 20th century. A man of great talent he was a painter, illustrator, composer and experimental film director.

He also established the Hubert von Herkomer Art School in Bushey, Hertfordshire in 1884 until it closed in 1904.

von Herkomers works can be seen in many prominent galleries in Manchester, Southampton, Leeds, London and Liverpool as well as The Lady Lever Gallery.
